Before he was wielding a light saber as Kylo Ren, lolling around Bushwick in “Girls,” and earning his first Oscar nomination for “BlacKkKlansman,” Adam Driver got his start onstage.

However, it’s been seven years since he took the New York stage, and now, he’s making his long-awaited return to Broadway in the revival of Lanford Wilson’s “Burn This,” directed by Michael Mayer. Driver stars as Pale, whose brother has just died, and he begins a relationship with his brother’s former dance partner, played by Keri Russell.

In honor of his return to the stage, we looked back at Driver’s past stage performances.

Rattlestick Playwrights Theater
Driver made his New York stage debut at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater in 2009 in “Slipping.” The New York Times said, “The strongest asset here — this is Mr. Talbott’s first full-length play — is Mr. Driver’s menacing portrait (in flashbacks) of Chris, a man unable to face his own sexuality, who takes out his self-loathing on the object of his desire.” Driver returned to Rattlestick in 2010 for “Little Doc,” which he starred in with his now wife Joanne Tucker.

The Retributionists
In 2009, Driver starred in Daniel Goldfarb’s play about a group of Jewish freedom fighters in World War II Germany. Driver played Dov Klapinksy, the ringleader of the group, in the production at Playwrights Horizons. Fun fact: A then-unknown Cristin Milioti was also in the cast.

Mrs. Warren’s Profession
Driver made his Broadway debut alongside Cherry Jones and Sally Hawkins in the 2010 revival of George Bernard Shaw’s play about a prostitute-turned-brothel owner and her disapproving daughter. Driver played Frank Gardiner, the social-climbing love interest of Mrs. Warren.

Angels in America
Driver took on the two-part Tony Kushner epic at Signature Theatre, when he played Louis in the Signature Theatre production. Driver replaced Zachary Quinto in the role in 2011.

Man and Boy
For his second Broadway outing, Driver joined stage stalwart Frank Langella in “Man and Boy” in 2011. The Terence Rattigan play follows a tortured businessman, and Driver played his son, with whom his father comes to stay after many years apart.

Look Back in Anger
Driver achieved critical acclaim and even won the Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Featured Actor in a Play for his performance in “Look Back in Anger” in 2012. The New York times called his performance “explosive,” adding that he “embodies the role with captivating gusto.”
