Melbourne’s iconic Princess Theatre is regarded by many as Melbourne’s most spectacular landmark.

Dating back as far as 1854, the theatre was purchased by Marriner Theatres in 1986 and plans were put in place for its total refurbishment and to ensure its future viability as a live theatre venue. 

The Princess Theatre reopened in 1989 with the musical ‘Les Miserables’ followed by ‘The Phantom of the Opera’ which ran for over two and a half years and established a new record for the longest-running show ever staged in Victoria.

The Sumner is a state-of-the-art, 559 seat theatre offering advanced stage technology and a level of intimacy not previously seen in Australia. Plenary is the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre's centrepiece, accommodating conferences and single-speaker presentations through to gala dinners and full-scale stage productions. Its generous space seats up to 5,500 guests and can be divided into thirds. It has dressing and VIP rooms, motorised blinds and acoustically treated walls. With full theatrical capabilities, Plenary has hosted many successful events since the Convention Centre opened in 2009, becoming the first in the world to be awarded a 6-Star Green Star environmental rating.

Built in 1928, the Comedy Theatre is a blend of European flavours. The exterior is a replica of a Florentine palace and the interior shows a strong Spanish influence. The venue still maintains a lot of its original characteristics including balcony seating, a generous foyer and an elegant staircase.
