About Titanique

Get ready for a madcap voyage on the high seas — now in its third year docked in NYC, the musical Titanique is still bringing a boatload of fun! Get Titanique tickets on TodayTix.

What do you get when you mash up James Cameron’s iconic Oscar-winning film Titanic with the music catalog of Céline Dion? You get the camp-fest Titanique, with enough humor to melt even the iciest hearts and some of the most powerful vocals this side of the Atlantic.

Watch Dion herself (okay, an actor playing her) crash a tour group at a Titanic museum to tell them what really happened to Jack and Rose — and it's not how Hollywood tells it.

Get ready to hear songs like "All By Myself," "To Love You More," and of course, "My Heart Will Go On" in between a nonstop wave of spoofs on the movie and modern pop culture jokes. Famous figures like Victor Garber (who starred in the original film) and The Unsinkable Molly Brown even pop up, sort of. Forget the Heart of the Ocean — Titanique is one of Off-Broadway’s most dazzling gems.

Get ready to have “a titanic amount of pure joy” (New York Theatre Guide) and celebrate “the modern camp icons” (The New York Times) that are Dion and Titanic.

So near, far, wherever you are, make your own voyage to the Daryl Roth Theatre to see Titanique! Get tickets to Titanique off Broadway on TodayTix now.

More information about Titanique

The real-life Titanic voyage and the Titanic film were tragic, but Titanique is firmly a comedic spoof. Its co-creators, Tye Blue, Marla Mindelle, and Constantine Rousouli, are friends in real life and performed parody musicals and dinner theatre in Los Angeles for years. There's little they could do to love Titanic more: Besides co-writing Titanique, Blue also directs it. Plus, Mindelle and Rousouli originated the roles of Céline Dion and Jack, the role made famous on screen by Leonardo DiCaprio in 1997.

Titanique was most recently presented as a concert called the Maiden Voyage, performed at New York's Le Poisson Rouge lounge and streamed to virtual audiences in 2021. Before that, the musical had pop-up engagements in New York and Los Angeles, earning a BroadwayWorld Cabaret Award in 2019. The 2022 run of Titanique in New York marks its first fully staged production.

Titanique has proved unsinkable, with legions of fans buoying it up. After kicking off at the Asylum Theatre in summer 2022, the musical was extended multiple times and has now resurfaced at the Daryl Roth Theatre.

What to watch for

  • The 1997 Titanic movie won 11 Academy Awards including Best Picture. It was also the first film in history to gross over $1 billion internationally in movie theatres.
  • One scene in Titanique is entirely improvised every night. Can you spot which one it is?
  • References to RuPaul’s Drag Race, Julia Fox in Uncut Gems, and Patti LuPone (complete with a life-size cardboard cutout) are just some of the diverse pop culture moments in Titanique.
  • In case you ever forget that the songs of Titanique are Dion’s, the Celine character often jumps into the other characters’ numbers as they sing them. Not even Jack and Rose get a romantic duet fully alone!
  • Titanique isn't the only musical that incorporates the Titanic sinking. Meredith Willson wrote The Unsinkable Molly Brown in 1960, and a new version just played off Broadway in 2020 with Fun Home's Beth Malone in the title role. There's also the 1997 musical Titanic (the film premiered later that year by coincidence), a historical drama that won five Tony Awards including Best Musical.
