Located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, the Park Avenue Armory is a venue for all types of theatrical and visual art shows, ranging from the traditional to the experimental. The building, also known as the Seventh Regiment Armory, was first erected in 1880 as the headquarters of the Civil War-era 7th New York Militia Regiment. The Park Avenue Armory arts organization took over the building in 2007 and converted it into a performance space. Most shows take place in its central, versatile Wade Thompson Drill Hall, one of the largest unobstructed spaces in New York City.
