A classic musical, Gypsy takes place just as the once-popular vaudeville industry is declining in the early 20th century. Nonetheless, the constant dreamer and unbearable stage mom Momma Rose looks to push her daughter June into the spotlight at any cost — traveling the country, sweet-talking an agent (and her love interest), and neglecting June's less talented sister, Louise, who against all odds ends up as one of the burlesque scene’s most famous strippers. But as Rose remains in the shadows as Louise’s career ascends, she must come to terms with her own lack of self-love.
Gypsy is at New York's Majestic Theatre , which is located at 245 West 44th Street (between Broadway and 8th Avenue), New York, 10036.
Gypsy runs for 2hr 45min. Incl. 15min intermission.

Get Gypsy tickets and see six-time Tony Award winner Audra McDonald step into the mother of all Broadway roles: the ambitious Momma Rose, who goes to great lengths to achieve fame for her daughters in pursuit of the American dream. Tony winner Danny Burstein also stars alongside rising Broadway stars Joy Woods and Jordan Tyson in this revelatory new production (now the recipient of five Tony Award nominations) of the classic American musical, directed by six-time Tony Award winner George C. Wolfe and choreographed by four-time nominee Camille A. Brown (Hell’s Kitchen).

Gypsy features some classic songs including “Rose's Turn," "Everything's Coming Up Roses," "Together (Wherever We Go)", and "You Gotta Get a Gimmick.” The score reflects a classic Broadway style, with a big overture and brassy instrumentation.
The show brings together a trifecta of Broadway legends. Jule Styne (Funny Girl) and Stephen Sondheim (Sweeney Todd) wrote the music and lyrics, respectively. Arthur Laurents (West Side Story) wrote the book.
George C. Wolfe, who won a Tony Award in 1993 for directing Angels in America: Millennium Approaches, directs this revival.
Gypsy has an age recommendation of 10+. Children under 4 years old are not permitted at Broadway theatres, regardless of show.
