Riffing on monarchies’ absolute power, *Prince F\*ggot* dares to imagine one where a ruler is as queer as the playwright. The result? A hilarious and theatrical dismantling of power and privilege.

A rising writer for TV and theatre, Tannahill is “a natural storyteller with a strong sense of narrative rhythm as well as the ability to launch into almost mystical flights of poetic vision,” per the Toronto Star. 

His novels and plays have been translated into twelve languages and honored with a number of prizes including two Governor General’s Literary Awards, Canada’s highest state honor for literature. “Tannahill possesses a powerful artistic voice that reflects where we come from, who we are and who we may become,” the Governor General’s Literary Award wrote for his prize in 2018.

Pulitzer Prize finalist Shayok Misha Chowdhury directs Tannahill’s new play. Chowdhury won an Obie Award for directing the world premiere of his playwriting debut, *Public Obscenities*, which had an extended run in New York last season. Now, these two shining voices, both known for their kaleidoscopic look at queerness, unite on this expansive, intriguing, and singular satire.

*Prince F\*ggot* is a satirical new play riffing on the monarchy in which an ensemble of queer performers model what a ruling class of LGBTQ+ people might look like.

David Greenspan is an actor and playwright known for his long and accomplished career in New York theatre, particularly off Broadway. He has won six Obie Awards — three for performance, two special citations, and a 2010 award for Sustained Achievement.

He has written more than 20 plays and musicals, including a stage musical adaptation of Neil Gaiman's *Coraline*, and performed in shows such as *A Midsummer Night's Dream* and *The Patsy*.

Seaview has acquired the historic Tony Kiser Theatre in the heart of New York City’s Theatre District. Seaview has recently serve  as the lead producer of the Off Broadway hits Hold Onto Me Darling (Lucille Lortel Theatre, 2024), Danny and the Deep Blue Sea (Lucille Lortel Theatre, 2023), and Sweeney Todd (Barrow Street Theatre, 2017).
The theater’s seating capacity will remain at 296, with its infrastructure including rehearsal space, dressing rooms, a fly space, and ample stage gear. These features make the venue an ideal location for both plays and musicals, allowing for expansive design possibilities.

Studio Seaview programming philosophy is highly flexible, with productions scheduled on a show-by-show basis rather th n adhering to traditional seasons. The company will prioritize productions that inspire both artists and audiences, focusing on an “eventized” approach to Off-Broadway theater. 

The first production at Studio Seaview  which will be directed  by Sam Gold, will debut in Spring 2025 a d will be announced shortly. Seaview has a longstanding relationship with Gold, having recently collaborated on An Enemy of the People starring Jeremy Strong and Romeo + Juliet starring Kit Connor and Rachel Zegler.
