The story was interesting, and entertaining. Not much of a suspense or thriller besides the really irritating loud sounds to help drive the plotline forward. Compared to other suspenseful plays on Broadway and Off Bway right now, this is sort of the runt of the litter. Acting was not selling what they were trying to have you buy into in regards to the atmosphere and mood of the moment. I would not really recommend this play, unless you want to see these Hollywood stars up close. Sad, as I was looking forward to this play as it's trailers and commercials on social media made it quite interesting to go see.
I enjoyed 2:22 A Ghost Story. The intimate theatre added to the slightly eerie atmosphere, the acting was good and the actors fun to watch, and the surprises were unexpected. Simple but good set and lighting.
PRO - An interesting mash-up of a ghost story & a domestic meltdown between two couples Both story lines are compelling enough to sustain interest Anna Camp is esp good in her portrayal of postpartum hysteria CON - The scene changes are proceeded by extremely loud electronic sound effects (simulating terror?) & distracting flashing neon around the proscenium breaking any sustaining momentum

“I am still pinching myself on the journey my play 2:22 - A Ghost Story has been on, from the West End to theatres on five continents across the world," playwright Danny Robins said in a statement. "What I set out to do when I wrote it was to create a play that will make you jump, laugh, cry, and go off into the night debating that age-old question ‘do ghosts exist?’ I love how our brilliant director Matthew Dunster has injected a dose of rock ‘n roll into the staging that makes for an exciting, exhilarating, adrenaline-filled night out. I can't wait to share this experience with New York audiences! Come—if you dare!”
