Cry no more, little sister! The supernatural horror-comedy film upon which the musical is based developed a dedicated cult following after its 1987 release, also picking up some awards along the way. It also acted as a springboard for the careers of Kiefer Sutherland, Jason Patric, Corey Feldman, and others. Now, a new generation will get to take a bite out of this haunting and thrilling tale.
"Michael Arden is one of the most dynamic directors working today, and to have him reimagine an iconic film like The Lost Boys is thrilling, especially when we consider how it will come to life at the legendary Palace Theatre,” said producers James Carpinello, Marcus Chait, and Tony nominee Patrick Wilson in a joint statement.
Giving pulse, sex appeal, and rhythm to the California vampires is The Rescues: an LA rock band fusing some of their existing songs to this musical’s story while also introducing new numbers specifically for the show.

The Lost Boys introduces a new generation to the cult classic movie, in which teenagers move to California and uncover their small town’s underground population of bloodthirsty vampires.
David Hornsby (It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia) and Chris Hoch wrote the book, based on the 1987 classic, and The Rescues, an LA rock band, is creating the music.
The song list has yet to be released, but The Rescues is known for their heartfelt, aching, and soaring rock anthems, which will be a perfect suit for this show about young love and outsiders trying to be a part of their community.
Broadway vet Michael Arden, who has taken theatre by storm the past few seasons with Maybe Happy Ending, Parade, and Once on This Island, directs this new musical.
Despite the title, there are some adult themes in the material. However, an age listing is not out yet and Broadway audiences must be ages four and up.
The musical is new and there are no reviews yet, but the film was a cult classic and audiences are ready for a return of vampire-mania to take a new generation by storm.
