*Oh, Mary!* is one of Broadway’s most unexpected breakouts, having been praised for its audacity and inventiveness. Escola’s script twists American history into an absurdist tale, imagining Mary Todd Lincoln as the frustrated, unsatisfied wife whose ambitions are thwarted by her gay, closeted husband and a world that doesn’t take her seriously.

The play is quick and hilariously self-aware, filled with slapstick humour and the theatrical equivalent of a fever dream. Beneath the absurdity, however, lies a piece of tender exploration of repression and the desire to be loved and seen. 

This London staging boasts a wonderful creative team, including costume designer Holly Pierson, lighting designer Cha See, sound designers Daniel Kluger and Drew Levy, and original music by Daniel Kluger. 

This staging of *Oh, Mary!* offers a rare chance to see a genuine cult hit for yourself. It’s bold, cheeky, and unlike anything else on the London stage.

## How to Get to the Venue
 Trafalgar Theatre is conveniently located near several Underground stations with Charing Cross being the closest - a mere 2-minute walk. For those who prefer driving, there are a few NCP car parks nearby. The theatre is also easily accessible for cyclists, with several bicycle racks available in the vicinity.

## How to Get to the Royal Court Theatre:
The theatre is geographically well-placed and easily reachable by various modes of transport. Sloane Square tube station, serviced by the District and Circle Lines, is the closest, just a short 2-minute walk away. Numerous local buses stop at 'Sloane Square' adding to the connectivity. If you prefer a drive, there is an NCP Car Park in Cadogan Place, though advance booking is advised due to limited spaces. Do keep in mind London's Congestion Charge.

The Royal Court Theatre contains two spaces - The Theatre Downstairs (Main House) and the Theatre Upstairs. The present building was built in 1888 as the New Court Theatre. It was used a cinema from 1935 to 1940. The building re-opened as a theatre in 1952. The English Stage Company took over the Royal Court in 1956.

In 1996, the interior was completely rebuilt, except for the façade and the auditorium, and reopened in February 2000.

The inaugural play *Panthea* lasted just 15 nights. Early plays included *Deburau* starring Ivor Novello, and Eugene O'Neill's *The Emperor Jones.* [*The Mousetrap*](https://www.londontheatre.co.uk/show/the-mousetrap)* premiered at the Ambassadors Theatre on 25 Nov. 1952, and later moved to St. Martin's Theatre in 1974.

## Ambassadors Theatre Seating Information

The auditorium has two levels – Stalls and Dress Circle. It is an intimate theatre.

In the Stalls, the rake of the seating becomes obvious from Row E and is quite a sharp rake, but the last two rows are set lower than those in front. The overhang of the Dress Circle affects the view from Row M.

The Dress Circle is not affected by an overhang, but the legroom on this level is not ideal.
