Death Note: The Musical in London centers on Light Yagami, a brilliant student whose outlook on life changes when he finds a notebook containing the power to kill anyone whose name is written in it. electric, incredible but pricey
when you think you have control- think again
The production and staging was really interestingly crafted and engaging. I think the plot, obviously so, was simplified. I don’t personally think the plot of Death Note matches a musical as it is very intellectual and stimulating whereas the musical felt more dramatic. I think some songs weren’t as necessary to the plot as what could have been. Nonetheless the actors were incredibly talented and the show was very smooth. I think Misa’s costume was a bit disappointing. I appreciate not wanting her to be sexualised but it felt way too preppy. Definitely worth my money and I enjoyed my time.
