*Grace Pervades* is a brand-new play transferring to the Theatre Royal Haymarket after a brilliant run at the Theatre Royal Bath, where original stars Ralph Fiennes and Miranda Raison return to the stage alongside Ruby Ashbourne Serkis and Jordan Metcalfe as Edith and Edward Gordon Craig. The rest of the company includes talented actors such as Youness Bouzinab, Giulia Innocenti, Tom Kanji, Saskia Strallen, Harriet Leitch, Guy Paul, Chris Porter, Maggie Service, Kathryn Wilder, Katherine Liley, and Sam Perry.

*Grace Pervades* is a deeply intriguing play for audiences who would like a better understanding of the foundation of British theatre and how, even many decades ago, the public had immense interest in the lives of those we perceived as ‘famous.’ This production is compelling and heartwarming, telling a tale of legacy and what it means to take up the torch.

Don’t miss *Grace Pervades*, an elegant new play by David Hare about Henry Irving and Ellen Terry and how they changed British theatre forever, starring Academy Award-nominee Ralph Fiennes alongside Miranda Raison.

Step back into the world of Victorian Theatre, where few names shine as brightly as Henry Irving and Ellen Terry, whose partnership changed British Theatre forever. Book *Grace Pervades* tickets on London Theatre.

*Grace Pervades* in London is David Hare’s new play, which explores the lives of two real legendary performers from the Victorian era. Academy Award-nominee Ralph Fiennes stars as Henry Irving, the first actor ever to be knighted, and Miranda Raison as Terry, the era’s most adored actress. Their bond is the true heart of this story, but the play also follows the complicated children who would inherit their theatrical legacy, Edith Craig and Edward Gordon Craig. The performance spans over decades as the drama examines themes of love, ambition, and legacy.

*Grace Pervades* is a play at the Theatre Royal Haymarket following its sell-out premiere at the Theatre Royal Bath. Fiennes and Raison both reprise their roles from the world premiere. Alongside them is a broader cast, including Ruby Ashbourne Serkis and Jordan Metcalfe as Edith and Edward, with Youness Bouzinab, Giulia Innocenti, Tom Kanji, Saskia Strallen, and more. Alongside a formidable cast, the production features a masterful creative team: director Jeremy Herrin, designer Bob Crowley, costume designer Fotini Dimou, and music by Paul Englishby.

This production is intelligent and humorous, shining a light on a very specific time and story while still entertaining its audience with stellar writing and outstanding performances from its cast. *Grace Pervades* offers a rich night of theatre that explores art, fame, image, and legacy with remarkable balance. Audiences are sure to leave the theatre not only thoroughly entertained, but also feeling they’ve learned a little bit more about the landscape of British acting and how it came to be.

BAFTA award winner Dominic West, star of The Affair, The Wire and The Crown, stars as Eddie Carbone in Arthur Miller’s timeless masterpiece of illicit and barely repressed sexual passion.

Theatre Royal Haymarket, located in London's West End, is one of the oldest and most historic venues for performing arts in Britain. It was established in 1720 and today seats over 800 people for each performance. Rich in history, the theatre's regal and classic architecture provides a charming setting for watching plays, musicals, and other performances. The theatre has witnessed performances by some of the world's most renowned actors including Laurence Olivier, John Gielgud, Ralph Richardson, and Judie Dench among others. These performances have contributed to its eminent reputation as a powerhouse of quality drama. The theatre has also been extensively refurbished over the years, combining modern comfort with its original Baroque style architecture. A night at the Theatre Royal Haymarket is a unique blend of great performances with a dash of history, making this venue a must-visit in London.

**How to Get to the Venue**

Located in the heart of London, Theatre Royal Haymarket is accessible by various modes of transport. The nearest tube station is Piccadilly Circus which is just a short stroll away. There are also numerous bus routes that pass close to the theatre. For those driving, there are several car parks nearby, but it's advisable to check congestion charges and parking restrictions before setting off. Alternatively, cycling or walking may be viable for those living or staying nearby.

Theatre Royal Haymarket

Theatre Royal Haymarket - TodayTix

The Theatre Royal Haymarket opened in 1821 in the West End. Affectionately known at first as the “little theatre in the Hay”, this ornate, grand building is near to West End theatres including [Her Majesty’s Theatre](https://www.londontheatre.co.uk/theatres/her-majestys-theatre) and the [Harold Pinter Theatre](https://www.londontheatre.co.uk/theatres/harold-pinter-theatre).

The Theatre Royal Haymarket is a pioneering theatre too. In 1873, the theatre was home to the first ever matinee performance, showing a West End production in the afternoon. Now, West End matinees are common practice across the capital.

In the 21st century, shows at the Theatre Royal Haymarket have attracted West End stars and global talent. [Ian McKellen](https://www.londontheatre.co.uk/actor-profile/ian-mckellen) and [Patrick Stewart](https://www.londontheatre.co.uk/actor-profile/patrick-stewart) starred in *Waiting for Godot*, while [Sienna Miller](https://www.londontheatre.co.uk/actor-profile/sienna-miller) and [Sheridan Smith](https://www.londontheatre.co.uk/actor-profile/sheridan-smith) starred together in *Flare Path*.

## Theatre Royal Haymarket Seating Information

The auditorium has four levels - Stalls, Royal Circle, Upper Circle and Gallery.

The seating in the Stalls is very good, particularly as the overhang of the Dress Circle only really affects the view from Row V onwards. Of note, the narrowing of the auditorium towards the stage does affect the view of the outermost seats in Row H onwards.

The Royal Circle offers excellent view of the stage – the overhang of the Upper Circle doesn’t affect the view from any seat.

Seats in the Upper Circle curve towards the stage at the sides, and do not offer great legroom but views are pretty good for the price on offer.

The Gallery feels far from the stage.
