In a four-star review, The Stage wrote that “Andrew Stein’s compelling dark comedy feels both prophetic and deeply discomfiting… Director Hersh Ellis gives the piece a fluid, dynamic staging.” Audiences can expect a compelling story for the here and now examining our relationship to big tech — and how humans have the power to determine its future.

This sharp, timely thriller examines how a new tech opportunity impacts the lives of four friends.

Get *Disruption* tickets on New York Theatre Guide to see the smash hit London play make its off-Broadway debut with a shining cast. *Disruption* plays for a limited time only this summer at The Pershing Square Signature Center. With four-star rave reviews from Metro, The Evening Standard, The Stage, and The Daily Mirror, *Disruption* off Broadway promises a thrilling ride in this topical story about AI's grasp on four friends.

In *Disruption*, Nick is a Silicon Valley giant who is starting his next venture: a life-changing algorithm that helps users make everyday and hugely difficult decisions. Nick presents the idea to his three best friends, unravelling their relationships as each approaches the technology with different needs and curiosities. *Disruption* is an unnerving thriller about whether big tech can control our lives, or whether we have the power to control it.

The cast of *Disruption* features screen and stage performers, including Jason Ralph (“The Magicians”), Tony Award nominee Conrad Ricamora (*[Oh, Mary!](https://www.newyorktheatreguide.com/show/37743-oh-mary)*), Jasmine Sharma (*Twelfth Night*), Tony Award nominee Elizabeth Stanley (*Jagged Little Pill*), Joe Tippett (“Mare of Easttown”), Golden Globe Award nominee John David Washington (*The Piano Lesson*), and Shaunette Renée Wilson (“The Resident”).

Do computers know us better than we know ourselves, and even if they do, should we listen to their advice? Such are the modern questions playwright Andrew Stein grapples with in his lauded new play. In a four-star review, The Stage said, “Andrew Stein’s compelling dark comedy feels both prophetic and deeply discomfiting, and director Hersh Ellis gives the piece a fluid, dynamic staging.”

Additionally, The Daily Mirror said, "Lurking beneath the high-tech dressing is an old-fashioned morality tale." Don't miss *Disruption* in New York City to see this "witty, incisive AI play that could hardly be more timely" (The Evening Standard). Tickets are on sale now.

Alanis Morissette’s five-time Grammy Award-winning record *Jagged Little Pill* comes to Broadway in a new show that takes the popular songs and reinvents them for the stage. Diablo Cody has crafted an original story around Alanis Morissette’s songs about a family searching for themselves and each other. There’s nothing ironic about this heartfelt and powerful new musical. Get *Jagged Little Pill* tickets on TodayTix.

The *Jagged Little Pill* musical follows a Connecticut family who seem to have everything together, but secretly, they’re falling apart. Behind closed doors, mom Mary Jane is struggling with a pill addiction; dad Steve is consumed by porn; their son Nick is striving for perfection; and their adopted daughter Frankie is exploring her sexuality and rebelling against societal norms at all costs. *Jagged Little Pill* also explores other hot-button issues, such as rape culture and mental health, through 22 of Morissette’s songs, including all 12 from her 1995 album that inspired the show’s title.

The musical won two 2020 Tony Awards, including Best Book of a Musical for Diablo Cody and Best Featured Actress in a Musical for Lauren Patten, who originated the role of Frankie's best friend and love interest Jo. Get *Jagged Little Pill* Broadway tickets now.

## What to watch for

- Although Alanis Morissette agreed to have her songs adapted into a musical, she didn’t want the musical to be about her life in any way. So that's why *Jagged Little Pill* follows a fictional family caled the Healys.
- Alanis Morissette’s music is reimagined for the stage production by *Next to Normal* songwriter Tom Kitt. Kitt also arranged Green Day’s music for Broadway’s *American Idiot*.
- Book writer Diablo Cody began creating the story with the character of Mary Jane, inspired by the song title of the same name. The *Jagged Little Pill* creative team includes direction from Tony Award winner Diane Paulus and choreography by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui.
- Did you know that *Jagged Little Pill* on Broadway has two all-new songs? These songs are called "Smiling" and "Predator." Then a further eight songs are by Alanis Morrisette, but not from the titular album.
- *Jagged Little Pill* is recommended for ages 14 and older. Children under the age of 4 are not permitted in the theatre.

Taking inspiration from the 1995 album, Cody has woven themes of empowerment, pain and healing into the plot of the musical, which also deals with topical issues such as racial identity, queer identity, addiction, and sexual assault. All these hot-button issues strikingly reflect the current social climate in the United States, rendering Jagged Little Pill perhaps the most relevant musical on the Great White Way.Following in the footsteps of such cherished musicals as Spring Awakening and Green Day's American Idiot, Jagged Little Pill is the perfect choice for those looking for an edgy, rock-infused show that speaks at great volumes - literally and metaphorically - to a disillusioned generation longing for hope.Upon the album release of Jagged Little Pill in June 1995, Alanis Morissette became the bestselling international debut artist in history, surpassing 24 million certified copies sold worldwide. She became an instant icon in the music industry, winning five Grammy Awards including "Album of the Year," "Best Rock Album," and "Best Rock Song" (for "You Oughta Know"). The seminal album is as appealingly timeless now as it was over two decades ago.Fans can expect live theatrical renditions from all the album's epochal hits from "Head Over Feet," to "Hand In My Pocket," "You Learn," and "Ironic." However, the musical also includes other beloved songs from Morissette's back catalogue, such as "Hands Clean," the Grammy-nominated "Thank U," and the two-time Grammy-winning track "Uninvited," making it a must-see for Alanis Morissette aficionados across the globe.(Photos by Matthew Murphy)
