About Josh Sharp's ta-da!

MUST CLOSE SEPTEMBER 27!

See the newest comedy show from Josh Sharp, who co-starred, co-wrote, and co-executive produced Dicks: The Musical for A24. ta-da! plays at downtown's Greenwich House Theater and is directed by Tony Award winner Sam Pinkleton (Oh, Mary!). An alum of Upright Citizens' Brigade, Sharp is a comedic force who in ta-da! off Broadway presents not just a show but a PowerPoint — one with 2,000 slides. Buckle up for a new gag every 2.1 seconds.

Experience ta-da! in New York, making its world premiere for a limited run only this summer in a production featuring an intriguing video and magic design. "When I saw Josh Sharp do an earlier version of this show, it was like nothing I've ever seen before: an utterly breathless, indescribable, idiotic feat of theatrical wizardry," said Pinkleton in a statement. "If it is anything less this time around, I will be the one to blame."

More information about Josh Sharp's ta-da!

Sharp is a comedic talent fast on the rise, with acting credits in a slew of TV shows and sketch specials that include Search Party, At Home With Amy Sedaris, Matt Rogers: Have You Heard of Christmas?, The Iliza Shlesinger Sketch Show, and more. Audiences can expect a rapid-fire show unspooling jokes, confessionals, and personal anecdotes from Sharp's life, career, and experiences.

"As a gay comedian, I'm thrilled to finally fulfill my birthright: an Off-Broadway run in the former home of Immersive Sweeney Todd in The Pie Shop," Sharp said in a statement. "But for real, this show and the stories in it are dear to me, and I'm so excited to bring them to a wider, smarter, and hotter theatre-going audience. Mostly, though, performing it every night will finally give me a chance to really nail the impossible task of this show, which is memorizing 2,000 stage cues."

What to watch for

  • Sam Pinkleton made a name for himself directing Oh, Mary!, but he is also a choreographer, previously earning a Tony nomination for Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812.
  • An intimate venue, the Greenwich House Theater is an ideal fit for a comedic one-person show.
  • The production will feature scenic design by Meredith Ries, lighting design by Cha See, co-video design by Stivo Arnoczy, and magic by Skylar Fox.
  • "I promise to make you laugh, and to give you an air-conditioned spot to have 1-2 cocktails before you spend a night out in New York’s West Village (notably of Sex and the City fame)," Josh Sharp quipped in a statement.
