If you’re not familiar with Gary Gulman, a comedian well on the rise, there’s a good chance you’ve already seen his work on TV. He’s one of only a handful of comedians to appear on every major late-night television comedy program, with routines seen on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Late Show with David Letterman, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Conan, Late Night with Seth Meyers, and John Oliver's New York Stand-Up Show.

It’s an enviable list, and Gulman is a big name because of it: weaving in personal stories, astute observations, and vulnerable recounts relating his mental health journey, he is a highly relatable and smart comic whose wisdom never comes at the expense of sacrificing laugh-out-loud jokes. Audiences can expect a similar spark in his new show, Grandiloquent, a solo show that dives into the lessons learned from his parents’ mistakes and his own failures.

• Gary Gulman has two HBO specials, The Great Depresh and Born on Third Base, and is also known for his star-making first recording of his show Conversations with Inanimate Objects.
• Gulman had an interesting path toward comedy: he played football at Boston College, planned to become a CPA like one of his brothers, and then worked as a substitute teacher, using his students as test audiences for his sets.
