A Freeky Introduction first played at the Atlantic during its (Writ)ual MixFest 2023, a free program where new works exploring unique theatrical interpretations are presented to the public. Following a lauded run, this special performance piece returns to the theatre. Coming with it is the original A Freeky Introduction team, including writer and performer NSangou Njikam (Syncing Ink) and director Dennis A. Allen II (a Launch Commission writer at the Atlantic).
In the show, audiences will embrace freedom with Freeky Dee, who presents a mix of poetry, ministry, and magic. Move past your fears and doubts to bring your inner Freek all the way out! Wanna get free? Then come get your Freek on.
Audiences can also expect an amazing New York DJ: Brooklyn-based DJ Monday Blue has had residencies with New York Theatre Workshop and at Dartmouth College and founded a vinyl party series led by all women curators.
