Victorian Opera presents a heart-warming and hilarious semi-staged production of Rossini’s classic opera buffa at Melbourne Recital Centre's Elisabeth Murdoch Hall.
Famed composer Gioachino Rossini elevates the story of Cinderella to a heart-warming tale of love and forgiveness in this classic and enchanting opera. Angelina, known as Cenerentola, lives a generous life despite the cruelty of her stepsisters and stepfather. Meanwhile, Prince Ramiro searches for a wife and in the process manages to uncover everyone’s true nature as hijinks and romance ensue. Following its debut in Launceston for Season 2022, Artistic Director Richard Mills and director Elizabeth Hill-Cooper will again join forces to bring Rossini’s joy-filled parable to Melbourne.
