Paddington, one of Britain’s most famous and most loved characters, is brought to life on stage in the world premiere of *Paddington the Musical*. Book *Paddington the Musical* tickets on London Theatre.

*Paddington the Musical* in London is based on Michael Bond’s beloved books and the award-winning films by Studiocanal. The show tells the classic story of a young bear called Paddington who arrives in London from Peru. He is taken in by the wonderful Brown family, who show him the world of Windsor Gardens. However, it’s not all marmalade sandwiches and laughter. Soon, Paddington’s life is threatened, and the Brown family must decide just how much to risk to give Paddington a home. 

The first Paddington book was published in 1958, and this little bear has been part of British culture ever since. The story of Paddington has been a much-loved part of British culture since the first 29 Paddington book came out in 1958; the books have since sold over 35 million copies worldwide. The first of three Paddington films from StudioCanal was released in 2014, and it earned a British Academy Children's Award for Feature Film. 

## What to watch for 

- This musical is the second stage adaptation of Paddington. The first was a 1983 musical by Shirlie Roden called *Paddington Bear’s Magical Musical*. 
- In 2019, lighting designer Neil Austin earned a Tony Award for *Ink*. 
- In 1994, the first item to pass through the newly completed Channel Tunnel was a Paddington toy, which the British tunnelers chose to pass through to their French counterparts. 
- Costume designer Gabriella Slade has previously been the costume designer for the Spice Girls international tour.

Bonnie Langford was born in Oxford in 1964 and has gone on to become a well-loved actress across stage and screen. Making her stage debut at seven years old, her career has seen her appear in the West End and on Broadway as well as featured roles in some of Britain’s most loved programmes.

Langford attended the Arts Educational School and Italia Conti Academy. Whilst at school, she starred in *Gone With the Wind* in 1972 and played Baby June in *Gypsy* in the West End and on Broadway, alongside Angela Lansbury as Rose. At 10 years old, Langford was nominated for her first Drama Desk award.

Starring in a previous national tour of [*42nd Street*](https://www.londontheatre.co.uk/show/3557-42nd-street) as Peggy Sawyer, Langford is no stranger to the theatre. Early stage credits include playing Rumpleteazer in the original production of *Cats* in 1981 and the title role in *Peter Pan* at the [Aldwych Theatre](https://www.londontheatre.co.uk/theatres/aldwych-theatre) in 1985. She has also led casts of [*Chicago*](https://www.londontheatre.co.uk/show/8337-chicago) in London, Canada and the US when she performed as Roxie Hart across a five year period from 2006 - 2010. She has also starred as The Lady of The Lake in a 2012 production of *Spamalot* at the [Harold Pinter Theatre](https://www.londontheatre.co.uk/theatres/harold-pinter-theatre), before reprising the role in 2013 and 2014 at the [Playhouse Theatre](https://www.londontheatre.co.uk/theatres/playhouse-theatre).

Outside of theatre, Langford appeared in *Doctor Who* as Mel, the Doctor’s companion from 1986 to 1987. Her last notable television credit comes from her three year period on *Eastenders*. She played Carmel Kazemi, the mother of Kush Kazemi played by Davood Ghadami. Langford also appeared on *Dancing on Ice* in 2006, finishing in third place. She then went on to tour with the show in 2007.

The nearest tube stations are Charing Cross (Bakerloo and Northern lines), Embankment (District, Circle, Bakerloo, and Northern lines), and Covent Garden (Piccadilly line). For those who prefer buses, services 6, 9, 11, 13, 15, 23, 87, 91, 139, and 176 stop near the theatre. For patrons driving private vehicles, the closest Q-Park car park is available at the nearby Chinatown. Savoy Theatre - TodayTix

The Savoy Theatre opened on 21 Oct. 1929. The building was known for being the first public building to be lit entirely by electricity. 

When a fire ravaged the theatre in 1990, destroying the interior, it was meticulously restored by Sir William Whitfield to the original 1929 designs. The theatre reopened on 19 Jul. 1993.

The D’Oyly Carte Opera Company played several seasons at the theatre over the past 20 years, their last production being *HMS Pinafore* in 2003. 

The theatre has also housed several musicals, including *She Loves Me* in 1994 starring John Gordon Sinclair and Ruthie Henshall, and has played host to musicals exclusively since 2006. 

## Savoy Theatre Seating Information

The auditorium has three levels - Stalls, Dress Circle and Grand Circle.

In the Stalls, the legroom throughout is very good, and the seating is well raked to ensure good views.

In the Dress Circle, the overhang of the Grand Circle affects the view from Row K onwards. The amount of legroom also decreases the further back you sit.

The Grand Circle feels rather far from the stage.

*Pretty Woman: The Musical* is at the Savoy Theatre in London. The Savoy Theatre is located on the Strand. It's close to West End theatres including the Adelphi Theatre and the Vaudeville Theatre.

## What to Watch For:

- For *Cabaret* in London, the Playhouse Theatre will be renovated into an in-the-round auditorium. Audience members will be able to sit at tables to evoke a club setting, rather than a traditional proscenium arch theatre. As a result, the seating capacity at the Playhouse Theatre has been reduced to accommodate 550 patrons per performance. 

- The *Cabaret* musical was first staged in 1966 featuring Joel Grey as the Emcee. However Cabaret became a popular twentieth-century musical thanks to the 1972 Cabaret movie starring Liza Minnelli as Sally Bowles.

To enter the Lottery you must either reside in United Kingdom and/or be able to attend the relevant scheduled performance in London and be aged 18 years or older. Any entries made from outside the UK will be subject to UK law.

No purchase is required to enter but if you win you will need to pay for each ticket.

You can earn one extra entry into the same lottery that you have entered if you share the auto-filled post on Facebook and another if you share the auto-filled post on Instagram.

All winners are drawn at random by a computerised process. There are a limited number of discounted price tickets available as prizes for each lottery in the series, which are always drawn in two stages.

All tickets available are drawn at random and assigned to winners. If a winner declines or fails to claim their tickets within thirty minutes, these tickets will be re-assigned at random to another entrant. Choosing to enter for either 1 or 2 tickets holds no bearing on your chances of being drawn as a winner.

When the winners are drawn for each lottery in the series, the same computer process will be used to randomly select "reserve" winners. If you are a "reserve" winner and the original winner does not claim the tickets, you will be sent an email to let you know that you’ve been assigned as a winner. All replacement winners are selected from the drawn "reserve" at random.
