Full Gallop is a one-woman show written by Mark Hampton and Mary Louise Wilson, who originally starred in the play. Wilson is known for her own star-making turns in Grey Gardens, for which she won a Tony Award, and her work in Full Gallop earned her an Obie Award. She took the role of Diana Vreeland to Manhattan Theatre Club, and this play now returns to that home.
The play zeroes in on a specific period in Vreelan's life, during her return to New York City after a four-month escape to Paris. She took to France after her public and scandalous firing from Vogue in 1971, but now she has returned to her home city, ready to reinvent herself — and her beloved industry.
