"HUMAN" tickets
About "HUMAN"
Nehprii Amenii’s kaleidoscopic, puppetry-driven performance explores what it means to be human in a world where humans no longer exist, asking whether humanity is something we are born with or something we must earn.
The story follows Nacci, a young seahorse full of curiosity and conviction, who refuses to believe humanity is a thing of the past. As he searches for a way to bring them back, his journey reveals who humans were—their nature, history, and the consequences they left behind.
“HUMAN” is rooted in African traditions and modes of thought, centering human life and our connection to the heart. Blending puppetry, choreography, and original music by Martha Redbone and Aaron Whitby, the work invites audiences into a richly imagined world of deep beauty through visually immersive scenic design, transformative lighting, evocative projections, and visionary costuming.
