A 2016 dystopian political thriller that explores the extreme consequences of anti-immigration rhetoric and policies. Set in 2019, it follows a conversation between a former private prison warden, Rick, and Gloria, a professor, as he faces sentencing for atrocities committed in detention centers after a major terrorist attack leads to martial law. Staring Austin Lightning Carrothers and Cecily Lyn Benjamin (Sing-Sing).
With this production, we will question just how dystopian this story could be and ask where we as a country are headed. Partnering with the Immigration Defense Fund and New York Immigration Coalition, we will host Talk-Back conversations and raise funds for legal resources for immigrant communities.

A pertinent play for our times.
I think the main thrust of this play is the role of "Middle Managers" in atrocities committed. It seems the middle men are always the ones who take the burden of the blame and punishment. This play examines the background of one of those men: What they endured as young people, what they admire in "law and order" bureaucracies, why they feel justified in their actions.
brilliantly written and terrific stage presence with just two actors who are crafting and creating with each other throughout the play.
