Get 44 the Musical tickets to see this hilarious riff on Barack Obama's life and presidency. Obama's 2008 election forever changed history. And as the show also posits, it also ended racism forever! (Maybe not.) But 44 the Musical is the story of Obama you won't read about in history books... because history books are now banned in most states. But also because 44 is the story of Obama as Joe Biden kinda sorta remembers it. Who said politics can't be fun?
Experience 44 the Musical in New York at the Daryl Roth Theatre for a limited eight-week engagement, beginning previews on October 14 with an official press opening scheduled for November 6. 44 the Musical off Broadway is a smart play that operates in the same manner as other hit comedies like Titanique. No previous knowledge of history required: this is not a seminar, it's a satire. The only course requisite is a desire to laugh.

44 the Musical started in Chicago, where it was an instant hit. The Chicago Tribune wrote that 44 is a "smart, sophisticated satire, a hilarious spoof R&B musical stocked with top-drawer talent and comedic invention with Broadway-calibre singing from the three hilarious leads." The review raved that the comedy had "a chic, uber cool vibe. It tickled me purple all night long."
44 is a melting pot of music that delivers everything you'd come to expect from a Musical about the Obama Era - Sarah Palin scream-singing "Drill Me Baby" like Ozzy Osbourne, President Obama crooning "How Black Is Too Black?" over a smooth Motown groove, and of course,“Filibusters,” a hardcore hip-hop jam where Mitch McConnell and Ted Cruz rap “Green Eggs and Ham” in its entirety. No matter where you fall on the political spectrum, your favorite, or least favorite, politician will be characterized up on stage, doing something absolutely ridiculous.
The creator of the show, Eli Bauman, worked on Obama's 2008 campaign in Las Vegas. About making the show, Bauman said in a statement, "If any buffoon with zero qualifications can become President, then why couldn't I, also a buffoon with zero qualifications, write my first musical?" The play stars recording artists Shanice & T. J. Wilkins and Michelle and Barack Obama. Mitch McConnell, Hillary Clinton, and Sarah Palin are all characters in the musical.
44 the Musical is about the US's 44th president, Barack Obama, comedically riffing on his life and story.
