No Singing in the Navy the musical follows three sailors with a hundred bucks in hand and 24 hours on leave. If it sounds familiar, that's because Cramer is spoofing the American musical and its ability to oversimplify complicated matters. Sounds fun? Nautical? Naughty? The show is all of the above. Aysan Celik directs this three-person, one-piano new musical coming to venue's Peter Jay Sharp Theatre on 42nd Street for a limited run only this spring.

Like an 80's LaMama experiment that "riffs" on a well known musical for no reason. It was all "look what we're doing! Isn't this strange and a wonder?" Geez.
Watching paint dry is more interesting and original than sitting through this 90 minute TORTURE fest. It almost made me want to blind myself and deafen myself just to escape the PURE TORTURE I felt trapped in my theater seat for 90 minutes which felt like five hours.
Uneven story that made no sense and went on way too long - the point/message was lost in all the 'skits'.

Milo Cramer is known for his off-kilter, bonkers, hilarious works, as with Minor Character, Cute Activist, Business Ideas, and others. Those shows have been downtown delights, performed at Clubbed Thumb, The Bushwick Starr, and elsewhere. They have also received critical acclaim: "What [Milo Cramer] is doing is simply structured, generously conceived, full — inside its simple container — of irresolvable yearning and wondering, guessing and risking — and it’s completely wonderful," Sara Holdren said for New York Magazine's Vulture website.
School Pictures, his last solo show, received an Obie Award and went on to be featured on NPR’s This American Life, produced in Philadelphia and Minneapolis, and named the #1 show of 2023 by Vulture.
"Walking out of Milo’s show, I became aware that my cheeks felt a slight ache from either my constant grinning, or my laughing out loud, during their performance. What a welcome ache in these most challenging times," writer David Cale said in Almanac magazine.

- Playwrights Artistic Director Adam Greenfield called the 2025/26 season "a wild mash-up of works on both grand and intimate scales, each one fresh-eyed and curious."
