My Joy is Heavy the musical is written by The Bengsons, an Obie Award-winning married couple who creates music and unique theatrical experiences. My Joy is Heavy in New York City offers audiences a deeply personal portrait of a young family yearning for connection amidst the loss of a pregnancy while in rural isolation. Surrounded by snow and wrapped in loneliness, they uncover the unexpected joys and humor that can emerge in the wake of loss. The play offers a singular, glowing look at a couple going through that which is seldom discussed on stage.
