Suzan-Lori Parks' nine-piece band, SLP & The Joyful Noise, is her test kitchen. In The Tune Up – Parks’ new series blending short plays, music and high-voltage performance — she throws a party in that kitchen, alongside starry guests and exceptional newcomers. This is a bring-your-drinks, make new friends, dance-in-the-aisles kind of night. With big sounds and bold ideas, Parks joyfully reminds us the importance of remembering who we are.

The Amph at Little Island is an outdoor venue. Performances in The Amph may be able to continue in light rain. If weather conditions become unsafe for audiences or performers (ex: lightning, heavy rain, accumulation of rain on the stage, or high winds), a performance may be delayed, paused, or cancelled.
Weather Cancellations
All tickets are final sale. If your performance is cancelled before it begins, or plays less than 40 minutes prior to cancellation, your order will be cancelled, and you will receive a voucher to rebook for a future show. Delays or pauses in the show do not qualify for vouchers as long as the performance ultimately plays 40 minutes or more.
