Diva LaMarr pays tribute to musical director and songwriter Darnell White, a Harlem native and graduate of LaGuardia High School of Music and Art and The Juilliard School. Diva Lamarr recently caused waves and ovations in the ground-breaking re-imagination of Little Shop of Horrors as Audrey II…as you’ve never seen or experienced her before. As a NYC Headliner, Diva has made guest appearances at The Silver Lining Lounge, The Special Club, Club Cumming, Birdland, Don’t Tell Mamas, The Friars Club (to name a few); and has appeared in many concerts from Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall to beloved cabaret venues for The Mabel Mercer Foundation and The American Songbook Association. As a musical director, Darnell has collaborated with Melba Moore, Brian McKnight, Blaine Krauss, Amma Ossei, Willis White, Angela Birchett, David LaMarr, Carlton Jumel Smith, and more! Both as a performer and resident artist, Darnell has graced the stages of New York’s major venues including 54 Below, The Iridium, Birdland, Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Smokey Joe’s Cafe, and Sid Gold’s to name a few.
