See it if Not grand as Sleep No More, but similar concept, follow different character to get various piece of the puzzle. Smaller rooms are detailed..

Don’t see it if Main ballroom is bit plain. Friend and I were invited by the reporter, and they are great. Actors have their specialties, but uneven..

More information about The Great Gatsby: The Immersive Show

The Great Gatsby is created and directed by Alexander Wright, who co-conceived the idea with producer Brian Hook. The theatre company Immersive Everywhere, which Hook co-founded, first produced The Great Gatsby in 2016.

The show has since received French and Flemish translations and premiered in South Korea, Ireland, and Belgium before coming off Broadway.

This success is due in no small part to the staying power of the original The Great Gatsby novel. It was a modest success in Fitzgerald's time, but it surged in popularity following his death. Now, many consider The Great Gatsby Fitzgerald's masterpiece and a Great American Novel.

The novel is narrated by Nick Carraway, who befriends mysterious billionaire Jay Gatsby and gets entangled in Gatsby's quest to win back his former love, Daisy Buchanan. Along the way, he also meets multiple people from Gatsby and Daisy's high-society world, including her husband Tom Buchanan, tennis star Jordan Baker, and Tom's mistress, Myrtle Wilson. All these characters and more appear in The Great Gatsby in New York.

What to Watch For

  • Attendees are encouraged, but not required, to wear 1920s-themed clothing.
  • The Great Gatsby novel came out in 1925. Think of this show as an early 100th-anniversary celebration!
  • Wright and Hook came up with the idea for the Gatsby show in 2015 while running a pub called The Fleeting Arms.
  • Two new The Great Gatsby musicals are also in the works: one from the composers of Paradise Square, premiering in 2023; and one with music by Florence Welch (of Florence + the Machine) and Grammy nominee Thomas Bartlett in 2024. It is the Twenties, after all — no wonder Gatsby's so popular!
