They say "one man's trash is another man's treasure," but what if a man's trash is his treasure? Such is the case for Sam (DeVito), a hoarder who never leaves his house, opting for the comforts of all his stuff. But when he's threatened with eviction if he doesn't declutter his property, he must finally draw a line between the two. The acclaimed playwright and director of 2018's Bernhardt/Hamlet reunite at Roundabout Theatre Company for this heartfelt comedy.

More information about I Need That on Broadway
Danny DeVito first revealed his involvement in I Need That in 2022, when he and his daughter Lucy participated in a reading at the Dorset Theater Festival in Vermont.
DeVito is best known for playing Louie De Palma in the sitcom Taxi, earning Emmy and Golden Globe Awards. His other best-known credits, on and behind the screen, include It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia (as Frank Reynolds), Hercules (as the voice of Philoctetes) and Matilda (as Harry Wormwood, director, and producer). His Hollywood career has steadily continued since 1970, and he earned a Tony Award nomination for his 2017 Broadway debut in The Price.
That play was an Arthur Miller revival. Now, DeVito works with a contemporary playwright: Theresa Rebeck. She has had four previous plays on Broadway — Bernhardt/Hamlet, Mauritius, Dead Accounts, and Seminar — and has written more than 40 that have appeared off Broadway, nationally, and internationally. She's a Pulitzer Prize finalist for her play Omnium Gatherum, which she co-wrote with Alexandra Gersten-Vassilaros.
What to watch for

- Danny DeVito has appeared in multiple productions off Broadway, making his debut with Shoot Anything With Hair That Moves and The Man With the Flower in His Mouth in 1969. He made his West End debut in 2012 with The Sunshine Boys in London.
