Mike Birbiglia's "The New One" comes to Broadway!
Mike Birbiglia has a new one. It’s called "The New One." He’s made you laugh in "Sleepwalk with Me" (it was a play presented by Nathan Lane, then a movie, THEN a book), "My Girlfriend’s Boyfriend" and "Thank God for Jokes." (He was also really funny in that one season of "Orange Is the New Black." And in "Billions." And "Broad City.") Now he’s on Broadway telling a new story in a new way with the same heart and humor we’ve come to expect. Lin-Manuel Miranda called "The New One" “as perfect a night as you’re gonna get.” Do not miss "The New One." Some people say it’s his best one. (It was John Mulaney. Also, Vogue.)

Entering the Theatre There are no steps to enter the theatre.
Getting to Your Seat There is an elevator to access the lower-level restrooms, the Mezzanine, and the Balcony.
Orchestra (first level) The Orchestra has no steps. There are 7 wheelchair locations: N18, P4, P7, P8, P11, P106, P108 There are 6 transfer locations: K101, M1, M2, M22, N2, O19
Mezzanine (second level) The Mezzanine is up 2 flights of stairs consisting of 25 steps. The entrance to the Mezzanine is behind row H of the Mezzanine. There are approximately 2 steps between each row with a handrail on each step. There are 5 wheelchair locations: Mezzanine Right Box A, Mezzanine G3, G18, G21, G22 There are 3 transfer locations: G2, G101, G112
Balcony (third level) The Balcony is up 2 flights of stairs from the Mezzanine consisting of 30 steps. The entrance to the Balcony is behind row H of the Balcony. There are approximately 2 steps between each row with a handrail on each step. There are 2 wheelchair locations: G19, G20 There are 3 transfer locations: G2, G101, G114
Restrooms and Water Fountains All restrooms are wheelchair accessible via the elevator. Restrooms are down 2 flights of stairs from the Orchestra, up 2 flights of stairs from the Orchestra, and up 4 flights of stairs from the Orchestra. Gender diversity is welcome here. Please use the restroom that best fits your identity or expression. Water fountains are in the lower lounge, Mezzanine and Balcony.

Directed by Seth Barrish, the one-man show premiered off Broadway at the Cherry Lane Theatre earlier this year. Celebrities including Nathan Lane, John Mulaney, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and Sara Bareilles have praised the show, and The New York Times said Birbiglia makes a “winning Broadway debut” with his “genius” comedy.
Children under the age of 4 are not permitted in the theatre.
What to watch for
Birbiglia has a life-threatening sleepwalking disorder, which he chronicled in his show-turned-film “Sleepwalk With Me.” The condition makes an appearance in the story here.
Birbiglia has appeared in TV shows like “Orange Is the New Black,” “Billions,” “Broad City,” and “Inside Amy Schumer.
Birbiglia has two doctors who helped him when he and his wife were trying to conceive, but only one of the doctors is named in the show. His doctors’ names are Dr. Kaplan and Dr. Fish, but only Dr. Kaplan is mentioned in the show.
