The Off-Broadway institution Atlantic Theater Company operates two venues in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan. Its mainstage, the 199-seat Linda Gross Theater, is located in the Parish House of St. Peter’s Church on West 20th Street. Atlantic first moved into the venue in 1991 and renovated it in 2012. Its secondary stage, Atlantic Stage 2, is located just four blocks south on West 16th Street. That venue opened in 2006 and is a 98-seat black box space for new shows, often by emerging playwrights.
