About Jack and the Beanstalk - Theatre on Kew

The Australian Shakespeare Company brings the magical adventure of Jack and the Beanstalk to the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, inviting families to experience a joyful day of outdoor theatre.

Presented in a relaxed picnic theatre style with all the charm of a classic pantomime, this delightfully interactive, laugh-out-loud production invites audiences of all ages to join the adventure.

Making its UK debut, Glenn Elston’s adaptation of Jack and the Beanstalk is full of laughter, imagination, and audience interaction. This beloved story brings classic characters to life in the beautiful surrounds of The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. Giggle at the Goose on the Loose, hunt for the Golden Eggs, meet the Fairy Godmother, enjoy the Magic Harp, sing along with Daisy the Cow, and help Jack defeat the Giant once and for all.

Reflecting on over 40 years of creating outdoor theatre experiences, Glenn Elston OAM says, “There is nothing more rewarding than watching families come together to laugh, play, and create lifelong memories through live theatre.”
Jack and the Beanstalk is an enchanting adventure for audience members of all ages, bursting with magical moments, theatrical surprises, and an unforgettable outdoor theatre experience the whole family will cherish.

Best of all, each theatre ticket include access to Kew Gardens, so audiences can enjoy an idyllic day exploring Kew’s 320 acres of iconic glasshouses and spectacular seasonal displays followed by a theatrical production in the sunshine.

Pack a picnic, pack the kids, and join the fun this summer at Kew Gardens!
