Set in America’s South during the nineteenth century, this bold new musical is a sweeping story of love, conflict, and the search for understanding. Sung-through in the tradition of Hamilton, Les Misérables, and Rent, the score is a vibrant mix of gospel, rhythm and blues, classical, pop, rock, opera, folk, and classic musical theatre.
Through soaring music and powerful drama, the show invites audiences to imagine life through another’s eyes. Its message is simple yet profound: we cannot choose the roles we are given in life, but we can choose how we play them.

Round 2 of Midnight was just on another level, improved so much, the pace, the emotion, the use of back story and shadows astounded me. Lovely to hear some old and new voices, Always great to discover new and up and coming talent. This is a story that needs to be told and seen. This generations The Colour Purple. A score and performances full of passion, soul and gospel feelings leaving your heart in both hysterics and tears. Nothing like this has been seen on stage in ages we need west end to take more risks on writers who are putting things out there that are important, relevant and need to be heard Well done to all involved. Hoping we'll see more of this production more in the future. We all need it.
The story itself is weak, though it has an original twist. Didn't get the huge audience reaction to things not particularly great.
Truly emotive show, incredible story, smartly done. Obsessed with the music and vocals, truly beautiful.
