About Marie & Rosetta

Don’t miss this incredible showing of Marie and Rosetta at Soho Place, starring Olivier Award-winning Beverley Knight alongside Ntombizodwa Ndlovu. Book Marie and Rosetta tickets on TodayTix.

It’s 1946 in Mississippi, and Rosetta is a rising star with problems rumbling under the surface. The world is segregated, the church struggles with her freedom, and she needs something fresh, which she finds in Marie: a younger singer with a gorgeous gospel voice. Rosetta needs to somehow convince Marie to hit the road with her. Through musical numbers and bartering, the two find themselves getting closer throughout the night as Rosetta’s dreams and Marie’s principled attitude collide in this negotiation that will change the history of music.

With live musicians and witty dialogue, Marie and Rosetta in London is a two-person show that is intimate, humorous, and absolutely thrilling. This is a night at the theatre you won’t soon forget.

More information about Marie & Rosetta

Marie and Rosetta is a play with music that takes place over one rehearsal before a possible tour through the segregated South. The entire show takes place over a single night. Written by George Brant, this show gives both women the space to be complicated and so completely different. By adding live musicians and gospel tunes to the mix, you have a story that showcases two pioneers on center stage once more, exactly where they belong.

The formidable cast includes Olivier Award-winning Beverley Knight starring as Rosetta Tharpe, and Ntombizodwa Ndlovu starring as Marie Knight. Marie and Rosetta also has a brilliant creative team behind it, including director Monique Touko, set designer Lily Arnold, costume designer Jodie-Simone Howe, sound designer Tony Gayle, and intimacy director Bethan Clark.

Marie and Rosetta is truly a play worth watching, and an unforgettable performance.
