Fallen Angels is a play that premiered in 1925, precisely 100 years ago. Due to the play including women admitting premarital sex and also considering adultery, it was initially subject to scrutiny by the theatre censor, the office of the Lord Chamberlain. Eventually, the required license was granted due to intervention by the Lord Chamberlain.
After its rocky beginnings, this Noël Coward comedy has become a theatre classic that still resonates a century later.
