Rather than simply recreating Carlo Collodi's original tale, Charlie Josephine seeks to explore the relationship between creator and creation, a universal story about what it means to truly belong.
The Globe's wooden 'O' offers a unique and immersive backdrop for this performance. Designer Grace Smart, sound designer Tony Gayle, and puppetry director Peter O'Rourke bring this world to life through inventive visuals that make the theatre itself feel enchanted. Young audiences will delight in the humour and magic of the show, as adults find unexpected depth in the story's themes of responsibility and love.
