The Lady from the Sea is a play that tells the story of a wife who fears she may have chosen to settle too quickly. She is married to a successful doctor, but when an old love comes knocking, she is forced to make a difficult decision.

The Lady from the Sea in London has an excellent cast—in addition to Alicia Vikander and Andrew Lincoln, the cast includes Joe Alwyn, Gracie Oddie-James, Brendan Cowell, Isobel Akuwudike, and John Macmillan.

This show was written in 1888, and it has since been staged countless times worldwide, including in 2017 at Donmar.

Stone said of the new staging, “I’m over the moon to have found a new London home in the beautiful Bridge Theatre. The space is exhilarating, versatile, incredibly intimate. Alicia was born to play this role. She grew up watching Ibsen in his original language…I’ve been a fan of Andrew since I was a teenager.”
