The Estate is about Angad Singh, who becomes the political frontrunner when the opposition leader resigns amid a scandal. But when his home life starts to unravel dramatically, he must ask himself how far he will go to maintain his sparkling public persona. This is a gripping political satire that highlights the lies we tell ourselves, as well as the dynamics of power and family.

Alongside Adeel Akhtar, the cast includes Shelley Conn (Bridgerton), Dinita Gohil (The Father and the Assassin), Thusitha Jayasundera (The House of Bernarda Alba), Humphrey Ker (Welcome to Wrexham), Fode Simbo (Samuel Takes a Break...), and Helena Wilson (The Hills of California).

The Estate in London is written by Shaan Sahota, who is making her National Theatre debut. This play was the recipient of the 2024 Edgerton Foundation New Play Awards, and it was also shortlisted for the Women’s Prize in Playwriting 2020.

The talented creative team bringing this show to life includes director Daniel Raggett, set designer Chloe Lamford, costume designer Khadija Raza, lighting designer Jessica Hung Han Yun, and sound designer Mike Winship.
