About Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York)

The rom-com is back – with a twist! Original new musical Two Strangers (Carry A Cake Across New York) hits the West End following an acclaimed sold-out run at London’s Kiln theatre. Book tickets on TodayTix today.

Jim Barne and Kit Buchan’s heart-warming two-hander tells the story of two soon-to-be step-relations and their hectic 36 hours in the Big Apple ahead of a Christmas family wedding. Dougal is the excitable son that the groom left behind when he emigrated across the pond decades ago, and Robin is the stressed-out sister of the bride charged with looking after her sort-of step-nephew.

Together, Dougal and Robin make an odd pair. Plucky British suburbanite Dougal hopes that this visit will give him the chance to finally bond with his estranged father, while native New Yorker Robin is stuck in a rut and has no time to slow down and see things through fresh eyes. Still, anything can happen in 36 hours when you’re in the most exciting city in the world. Book Two Strangers tickets on TodayTix now.
