About Be More Chill
Be More Chill is an international sensation. This mind-bendingly, delightfully fun, hit musical comes to the Shaftesbury after its runaway success on Broadway, Off Broadway and in London at the Other Palace. Based on the ground-breaking novel of the same name by Ned Vizzini, it features a Tony Award-nominated original score by Joe Iconis bursting with addictively catchy songs such as More than Survive, Be More Chill and the showstopping Michael in the Bathroom.

Be More Chill tells the atypical love story of a boy, a girl....and the supercomputer inside the boy’s head guiding him every step of the way. The boy; desperate to be loved. The girl; longing to be noticed. And the supercomputer… just wants to take over the world.

Were you popular in high school? Would you have done whatever it takes to be a part of the “in crowd?” That’s what plucky teen Jeremy Heere has to consider, after signing up to the school play when he sees his crush Christine taking part. Jeremy swallows a SQUIP, a supercomputer that will control his behaviour. You can never trust technology to do whatever you want though, and when the SQUIP tries to take over, can Jeremy break away from the voices in his hand. Following a short run at The Other Palace, Be More Chill comes to the Shaftesbury Theatre this summer. The Be More Chill musical combines science fiction, popular culture and fantasy to create an addictive musical pulsating with high energy.

- The original Be More Chill London cast from The Other Palace will star in the West End transfer at the Shaftesbury Theatre.
- Be More Chill features a Tony-nominated original score by Joe Iconis. Iconis has worked on other musicals including Broadway Bounty Hunter and is working on a jukebox musical called Punk Rock Girl.
