So where did Lin-Manuel Miranda get his inspiration from? While on holiday, Lin-Manuel Miranda read Ron Chernow’s biography about the revolutionary, and early ideas for Hamilton were born.
- Lin-Manuel Miranda gave a work-in-progress performance of the opening song “Alexander Hamilton” at the White House in 2009 for President Barack Obama. The number would eventually become the show’s opening song. Since then, the original Broadway Hamilton cast performed at the White House.
- Miranda isn't a one-trick pony. His other musicals include In The Heights and Bring It On, and he's also worked on films such as Moana and Encanto.
