Spotlight: Xavier de Maistre and the Sydney Symphony at City Recital Hall tickets
About Spotlight: Xavier de Maistre and the Sydney Symphony
French harp virtuoso Xavier de Maistre shows off the sparkling, elegant voice of the harp together with Musicians of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra.
French harpist Xavier de Maistre ‘is a virtuoso of the highest order, profoundly musical and capable of realising a remarkable range of nuance,’ (Gramophone) and this radiant program will enchant you from the first note.
Handel’s Harp Concerto is incandescent, with flowing harp lines and elegant orchestral texture. Boieldieu’s is a true showpiece, full of sparkling colour and virtuosity, qualities matched by the Orchestra in Elgar’s Serenade for Strings and Grieg’s Holberg Suite.
Sunny, graceful and full of joy, this is a concert that showcases one of classical music’s most magical instruments.
