About The Sydney Symphony Fellows in Concert
Shostakovich & Andrew Howes
Concertmaster Andrew Haveron directs the 2027 Sydney Symphony Fellows in an arrangement of Shostakovich's Second String Quartet and a new work by Australian composer Andrew Howes.
The music of Sydney-based composer Andrew Howes reveals ‘an imaginative command of orchestral writing’ (Sydney Morning Herald). This concert sees the world premiere of a new work written especially for our Fellows alongside Howes’s arrangement of Shostakovich’s Second String Quartet for the unique instrumentation of this cohort.
Don’t miss your chance to hear the future of Australian orchestral music live on stage, with Concertmaster Andrew Haveron leading from the front.
