It’s the late 70’s and the Australian Aviation Industry is a boy’s club. The only job women are allowed involves wearing heels, lighting smokes and serving nuts. Deborah Lawrie’s got the chops to fly the big jets, but Reg Ansett won’t let her.
From the comedic geniuses who brought you UNQUALIFIED and STILL UNQUALIFIED, Genevieve Hegney and Catherine Moore use their trademark humour to unpack the absurd obstacles faced by a trailblazing aviatrix who refused to be grounded. Inspired by a true story, FLY GIRL embarks on Deborah’s turbulent journey to becoming Australia’s first female commercial airline pilot.

GETTING TO THE VENUE
BY TRAIN: The next stop north after Wynyard Station, take the train to Milsons Point station, exit at Ennis Rd and it’s just a 5 minute walk down Willoughby Street.
BY FERRY: The most scenic way to travel, treat yourself and jump on a ferry from Circular Quay to Milsons Point (a 10 – 15 minute walk) or Kirribilli Wharf (also, a 10 – 15 minute walk).
BY CAR: There’s free (but time-limited) street parking all around the theatre. Please allow ample time to park before your performance or booking at Bayly’s Bistro.
