"Socially relevant and thought-provoking, profoundly heartrending and often funny" - DC METRO NEWS
When violence and crime are involved, sometimes even the perpetrator is a victim. The Assignment will change how you see cause-and-effect and relationships, following an English professor whose student's essay reopens long-buried wounds. The two-person play was born from a true story of a mother's desire to understand why her son's life was taken, and a man's need to express remorse and reach lost young people before they take arms. Developed by Houses on the Moon Theater Company and written by Camilo Almonacid, witness the long-term emotional toll of violence on both sides of the gun barrel and the struggle for healing in this timely and resonant work at Jeffrey and Paula Gural Theater.
