The bard’s tale of mischievous spirits and finding true love has been a rich source of inspiration for many artists. And Mendelssohn’s incidental music for the play has become so popular; his name is synonymous with fairy music.
The MSO will take you tripping through Mendelssohn’s musical fairy garden, as you discover the composer’s inspired skills at crafting music, in three movements: the restless then comical Intermezzo, the solemn Nocturne, and the famous Wedding March.
