Since its 2009 world premiere, Ovo has been an audience favourite worldwide. This immersive production boasts exceptional acrobatics, which bring to life an ecosystem of bugs through brilliant, colourful acts, incredible costumes, and a Brazilian-inspired score.
At the centre of this tale of biodiversity and community is a love story when a new fly comes to the neighbourhood and falls for a local ladybug.
Ovo in London is brought to life by 53 talented acrobats and musicians who are from 25 different countries. Their acts include Chinese poles, aerial silks, contortion, foot juggling, slackwire, trampoline wall, and cradle.

“In Brazil, we have the rainforests. I appreciate nature a lot. I like to replicate nature and to incorporate nature with art—the shapes, forms, textures, colors,” Colker said of the show’s inspiration.
17 years after its initial premiere, Ovo is just as brilliant. Over time, acts have shifted and changed, but the heart of the story and the incredible Cirque du Soleil talent remain.
Broadway World said of this Royal Albert Hall staging, “High-flying scarabs loop through the air, ants juggle improbably massive fruits with their feet, and a contortionist twists her body into shapes mathematicians would struggle to describe. Above all, movement is king.”
