About The Great Gatsby

Welcome back to the roaring twenties! Jay Gatsby invites you to one of his infamous parties. The champagne flows and as the drama unfolds the man himself will be the perfect host. As invites go, this is the hottest ticket in town. A hedonistic world of red hot rhythms, bootleg liquor and pure jazz age self-indulgence awaits. Dress to the nines and immerse yourself in this heart racing adaption of F Scott Fitzgerald’s seminal tale.

Immersive Everywhere, led by Olivier Award-winning producers Louis Hartshorn & Brian Hook, will bring back London’s longest running immersive theatrical production. The Great Gatsby, directed by Alexander Wright, will re-open in the heart of the West End following all current government guidelines and Covid safety measures.

Tell Me More

The Great Gatsby is an immersive play that is based on F. Scott Fitzgerald’s iconic novel. As you take your seat at The Great Gatsby, you’ll be greeted by Gatsby’s party guests, including Daisy Buchanan, Jordan Baker and Nick Carraway. But all eyes are on Jay Gatsby as soon as he walks in the room. During the show, you’ll discover what really happens in West Egg, especially if you’re invited into one of the breakout areas to find out all the Gatsby goss. If you’ve read *The Great Gatsby *or watched the 2013 Baz Luhrmann movie starring Leonardo DiCaprio, this is the show for you.

Being an immersive production, it’s no surprise that The Great Gatsby audiences become a part of the performance too. This extends to dressing in theme for the show too, with theatregoers invited to wear outfits that are more suited to 1920 than 2020. From flapper dresses to smart three-piece suits, dress with sophistication and sultriness in mind. So get your The Great Gatsby tickets and look forward to a jazzy night out, old sport.

What To Watch For:

  • The Great Gatsby London opened in 2015, and has since moved venues three times to invite thousands more to the party each year. Did you know that The Great Gatsby is the country’s longest-running immersive production of all time?
  • All of The Great Gatsby action isn’t confined to just one room. There’s a number of smaller spaces and scenes that only a few people are invited to watch each performance. Will you be one of the lucky ones?
  • The Great Gatsby is directed by Alexander Wright. Wright is no stranger to working on immersive adaptations, also directing a piece inspired by The Wolf of Wall Street.
  • When the production reopened during the pandemic, the show was altered to accommodate for social distancing. For the return of The Great Gatsby, Casey Jay Andrews’ new scenic design was inspired by art-deco paintings of the time.
  • The F. Scott Fitzgerald book The Great Gatsby was published in 1925. Even though The Great Gatsby didn’t receive much praise at first, it’s now considered by many to be the defining American novel.
  • The Great Gatsby age recommendation is 14+. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Please bring Photo ID.
