One Day-The Musical is a musical that introduces us to Emma and Dexter, who meet on the night they graduate from university with their entire adult lives waiting ahead of them. And though when morning comes and sends them both in entirely different directions, their connection remains an unbreakable force.
This musical catches up with Em and Dex on the same date they met as the years pass them by and their careers, relationships, and circumstances continue to change. What doesn’t change? Their bond. Through friendship and heartbreak, their relationship develops alongside the people they are becoming.
Jamie Muscato stars as Dexter opposite Sharon Rose as Emma, with both actors reprising the roles they originated in Edinburgh.
With a book by David Greig and songs by Abner and Amanda Ramirez, One Day-The Musical transforms a modern-day love story into a new West End musical.

More information about One Day – The Musical
David Nicholls published One Day in 2009, and the novel went on to inspire its readership. The musical received its world premiere at Edinburgh’s Royal Lyceum Theatre in 2026 before its transfer to London’s Garrick Theatre.
The playwright David Greig, former artistic director of the Royal Lyceum, expertly adapts the novel for the stage. The score comes from Abner and Amanda Ramirez, a husband-and-wife duo also behind the American duo Johnnyswim.
Tony and Olivier Award nominee Max Webster directs the production with Carrie-Anne Ingrouille providing choreography, Rae Smith creating the set and costume design, Bruno Poet on lighting design, Simon Baker providing sound design, and Simon Hale serving as orchestrator.
One Day-The Musical in London is bound to be a swoon-filled night of theatre for audiences who are fans of the original novel as well as those who love theatre filled with romance and second chances
