Thelma & Louise: A New Musical is a musical centering around Thelma, who desperately needs a break from her marriage, and Louise, who has the perfect solution. They’re going to get away together for the weekend, just the two of them. Their plans take an unexpected and frightening turn, however, after an encounter at a bar leaves them both shaken and facing consequences that will transform their lives as they know them.
Amy Lennox stars as Thelma opposite Rachel Tucker as Louise, bringing together two acclaimed musical-theatre performers for this new stage version of a beloved feminist story. Trevor Dion Nicholas plays Hal, Jordan Luke Gage plays JD, and Samuel Edwards appears as Darryl.
While their friendship is tested at every waking moment, Thelma and Louise find themselves increasingly willing to step outside their comfort zones. The formidable tale of these two women now becomes a musical about refusing to live according to anyone else’s rules.

Thelma & Louise first hit cinemas in 1991, starring Geena Davis and Susan Sarandon, directed by Ridley Scott. Callie Khouri won the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for the film, which became closely associated with female liberation and unbreakable bonds of friendship.
Khouri is returning to her own screenplay to write the book for this world-premiere musical, developed for several years before its smashing arrival at the Young Vic. Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Neko Case comes to this adaptation, writing the production’s music and lyrics.
