About Kimberly Akimbo

Don’t miss Kimberly Akimbo, the Tony Award-winning musical by David Lindsay-Abaire and Jeanine Tesori, directed by Michael Longhurst. Book Kimberly Akimbo tickets on TodayTix.

Kimberly Akimbo in London focuses on Kimberly Levaco, who is almost 16. She is living with a rare genetic condition that makes her appear far older than her peers. After her family moves to New Jersey under questionable circumstances, Kimberly is forced to start again at a new school, all while her parents are anything but stable.

Then she meets Seth, a sweet but awkward classmate, and life begins to feel much better than the one that awaits her at home. But when her ex-con aunt Debra arrives with the money-making scheme of a lifetime, Kimberly and her friends are pulled into a very risky plan that will put her and her new life on the line.

This production features a masterful creative team: music by Jeanine Tesori, design by Soutra Gilmour, lighting design by Jack Knowles, sound design by Paul Groothuis, and video design by Luke Halls.

Amazing casting, nice show, definitely worth seeing

A man in the theatre had a medical emergency and staff took way too long to stop the play to help get him out of the theatre. Was quite upsetting and definitely killed the vibe of the evening for me. In terms of the play itself, not sure if the aforementioned vibe shift was a factor, but I just felt like I didn’t really connect with the story. Acting and singing was mostly good - a few accent slips here and there, but for the most part pretty solid. Recognized one of the kids from the Book of Mormon, so shout out to him, glad he’s staying booked.
