About CARE

Don’t miss CARE, Alexander Zeldin’s moving new production about old age, grief, and the loneliness associated with transitioning into our elder years. Book CARE tickets on TodayTix.

CARE is a play moving around a grandmother who takes a hard fall and is thus transitioned into a care home for the elderly, a place she never wanted to be. However, her daughter is under immense pressure, raising two grieving sons who never seem to stop fighting, and the family is struggling to know what is coming next for them. Inside the care home, Grandmother finds herself surrounded by other elderly residents who miss their homes and familiar comforts.

Written and directed by Alexander Zeldin, CARE follows the painful and, at times, humorous realities of what it means to get older and to naturally depend on the help of others. After his acclaimed Inequalities trilogy, Zeldin makes a Young Vic debut with this beautiful play about an utterly human topic: the cycle of life.
